Preparation Instructions

  1. Measure the Matcha
    Use 1-2 gram of Mãe Matcha for one serving. Adjust the amount to taste.
  2. Sift the Matcha (Optional)
    For a smoother texture, sift the matcha powder into a bowl to remove any clumps.
  3. Add Water
    Heat water to 75–80°C (165–176°F). Avoid boiling water to preserve matcha's delicate flavors and nutrients. Add about 2–3 oz (60–90 ml) of hot water to the bowl.
  4. Whisk
    Using a bamboo whisk (chasen), whisk the matcha in a zigzag motion (M or W shape) until frothy. This step ensures a creamy, smooth tea.
  5. Enjoy
    Sip your matcha as is, or add more water (up to 8 oz/240 ml) for a lighter tea. You can also mix it with milk or plant-based milk for a matcha latte.
